There are days when I know what I'm trying to accomplish and I wonder WHETHER what I'm trying to do is going about it the right way or the absolute wrong way. The totally MASSIVE amount of Caesar we are covering, they way I do the in-context vocab quizzes and the quia to help study for them, etc etc. It occurred to me last night that they way I do quia is sort of like a commentary (mediocre) targeting phrases or trying to get students to see the phrases. If I could just get ahead of the curve on my preps....
My quia page:
http://www.quia.com/pages/drippingvergil.html
(can't change it to just AP or Caesar & Vergil).
I don't believe in the "write out everything completely translated" approach. Takes too long and under pressure many would just crib translations--sooooo easy these days.
I wish I could JUST focus on this class. I see now, though, what BH said to me about why he became a lawyer... because he kept trying to convince himself that the next year would be easier and is just never got easier.
(This is sleep deprivation talking.)
I hope to have deep thoughts soon.
