I was just taking a break from working myself silly and reading some email. One was quoting both of the candidates on education. My mind flit through letters I'd like to write to this person or that person. Then, it landed on an idea which greatly amused me. I would love to have a state politician shadow me for a week, including following me home, seeing what I do to grade and prep for class and make materials, how much time I spend doing what, when I go to sleep, when I get up, etc. I'd like someone TOTALLY outside of the system to see it from the inside.
Wouldn't that be a neat challenge? Could they make a reality tv show from it? hahahaha. But seriously, don't you think some of their positions towards teachers might change? No, there still won't be enough money. I don't know the solution to that. I don't know how you can explain that education is just as valuable as defense, especially since it takes a decade or more before you see the final results.
