It seems as if it has been a couple of years since I posted here.  I'm not sure whether I even want to look at previous posts. I know that I was seriously considering leaving teaching at the time because of financial reasons.  There are days I still feel screwed--but what teacher doesn't?  And like so many other teachers, I know I can't leave.  I can't leave because this is a calling.  I cannot explain why I love Latin or why I love teaching, but I do.

So, this summer I've been doing some serious "research" on certain aspects of grammar that are in the Cambridge Latin Course but not expressly taught or mentioned in the text. This was more for my own benefit, to clarify my own understanding but also to be able to teach with a clarity that I feel my level 3/4 students deserve but which I have lacked. I've been posting mini-articles on different kinds of ablatives and genitives on the CLC List when it occurred to me--these are like blog posts.  What am I doing posting it just on that list when I do have a blog?

So, those articles will be coming in the next few days. Watch this space!

Ginny,
I'm so happy you are still teaching--you are a true role model to fellow teachers, and I know you've been changing the lives of countless children and adolescents for years. Sometimes we are not aware of our impact, but please know of yours on me! And as someone who is coming back to the CLC, I am deeply appreciative of how you add greater texture to the program.
John R.
